Kuvshinov Ilya This is a cover for an illustration magazine by artist Kuvshinov Ilya. I am a fan of her art; I follow her on any social media platform that I can.This digital painting is interesting to me mostly because of the use of dark colors, highlights, and the lack of value. Dark colors generally evokes a sense of sadness but due to the brightness of the blue background, the pictures feels dream-like. There's also a prominent yellow and orange highlight that gives the picture a warmer feeling to it. The contrast between the dark hair and dark clothes against this very bright background forces your eyes to focus on just the character. Besides the background and few highlights, the character almost seems monochromatic which is why she seems much more interesting against the light.
